The sixth Spring Bud Dream Growth Camp was jointly held by the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and automaker FAW Audi in Beijing from January 23 to 27.

A total of 80 Spring Bud girls from Gansu and Jilin provinces attended the five-day camp, during which they expanded horizons and gained growth.

The first class focused on psychological empowerment. Under the guidance of professional teachers, the girls sat in a circle, held drumsticks, and gradually synchronized their rhythms. With the resonance of their drumbeats, they learned to express emotions, release pressure and enhance teamwork abilities.

"In the past, I thought that I wasn't good enough. Now, I have realized that all people have their unique advantages," said a girl. Such class gave her courage to express her true feelings in front of the others for the first time.

The psychological empowerment class adopted such methods as funny games, scenario-based simulations and group collaboration to create a secure and inclusive environment, in which the girls were inspired to discover personal strengths and embark on a self-discovery journey.

During a visit to the China Science and Technology Museum, the girls immersed themselves in various interactive installations and cutting-edge technological installations.

From simulated space missions in the aerospace capsules, AI robots, DNA models, to solar and wind energy equipment, they learn more about the charm and potentials of science and technology with first-hand experience.

"I feel that science and technology education for girls in less-developed regions is not just an enlightenment of knowledge, but also a key that opens the door to the future world," said a teacher who accompanied the girls during the visit.

The girls also gained a deep understanding of the beauty of modern architecture and the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger — Together" in a visit to the National Stadium (the Bird's Nest) and the National Aquatics Center (the Water Cube). 

At Peking University, the girls held face-to-face talks with excellent students and listened to their study experience as well as growth stories. The girls also experienced its rich academic atmosphere and profound cultural heritage.

"Students at the university told me that dreams have no boundaries. I will always keep their encouragement in mind. It helps me realize that our future holds endless possibilities no matter where we come from," said a girl.

During a visit to Beijing Flower-Arranging Art Museum, the girls followed inheritors to experience intangible cultural heritage.

During the hands-on session, the girls trimmed branches, arranged leaves, and followed traditional composition principles to create their first-ever floral arrangements. They also learned to make sachets.

"The experience of making sachets and bouquets has allowed the girls to enhance their sense of aesthetics and deepen the understanding of the craftsmanship spirit," said the head of the museum.

The five-day study tour has sown the seeds of dream in science, culture and the future in the heart of the Spring Bud girls. They will carry the love and warmth of people from all social sectors to write a bright future with firm confidence, broad vision and beautiful memory.
