The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and domestic automaker FAW Audi jointly held the 5th session of the Spring Bud Dream-Building Camp in Yinchuan, capital of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, from July 15 to 19.

The five-day study tour attracted 120 Spring Bud girls from Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Gansu Province and Ningxia, who learned about intangible cultural heritage and chorus performance skills, visited cultural relics sites, and arouse a strong interest in art, history and culture.

The study tour took the girls to the Helanshan Mountain, where they were amazed by natural wonders and witnessed geological and geomorphological changes.

In a cultural experience class, they had a better understanding of the protection, inheritance and development of rock paintings in the Helanshan Mountain region, and appreciated the unique charm brought by primitive rock paintings as well as modern arts.

"We have closely observed the rock paintings, and it seems that the ancients are telling us stories of the past through the paintings. After attending the cultural experience class, I have gained a deep understanding that the Chinese culture has a long and continuous history and that the Chinese civilization is extensive and profound, further realized the importance of the protection and inheritance of cultural legacy, and felt greatly proud of the Chinese culture," said a Spring Bud girl.

The girls took part in an arduous trek across the Tengger Desert to challenge themselves. A girl said that the special experience had taught her to be brave and persistent in the face of challenges.

The study tour also brought the girls to nearby tourist attractions such as the Shuidonggou Site Museum, the ruins of the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), and an ancient cave.

Since its establishment by the CCTF and FAW Audi in 2019, the Spring Bud Dream-Building Camp has invited 530 Spring Bud girls nationwide to attend a wide range of camp activities that focus on moral, aesthetic, science and patriotism education as well as the exploration of history, culture and science to promote girls' healthy and all-round development.
