CCTF, Hengyuanxiang Launch 2023 Heng'ai Action in Jiangsu

Under the guidance of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and Hengyuanxiang Group, a Shanghai wool manufacturer jointly  launched the "2023 Constant Love (Heng'ai in Chinese) Action - Million Families Affection" public welfare program in Lianyungang of East China's Jiangsu province on December 14.

The ceremony was presided over by CCTF Secretary-General Zhang Yanhong, also Executive Vice-Secretary of the ACWF's Direct Affiliated Party Committee. It was also attended by Chen Xiurong, former Vice-Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF and President of the CCTF; Song Li, Member of the Leading Party Members' Group and the Secretariat of the ACWF; Zhu Jinsong, Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and President of Jiangsu Women's Federation; Xing Zhengjun, Deputy Party Chief and Mayor of Lianyungang; Chen Zhongwei, Chairman and Manager of Hengyuanxiang; and representatives of other central authorities, regional women's federations, beneficiary children, charity-minded families, volunteers and media workers.

Hengyuanxiang Group makes a donation of cash and goods worth about 10.85 million yuan ($1.52 million) to the China Children and Teenagers' Fund at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Hengyuanxiang Group donated cash and goods worth about 10.85 million yuan ($1.52 million) to the CCTF. Chen received the latest batch of donations and conferred a donor certificate to the company.

In her speech, Song said that the "Constant Love Action" program has become a bridge of friendly exchange among people from eastern China and families of all ethnic groups in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. It is also a channel for all children of different ethnic groups, especially those from disadvantaged families, to better feel the love and warmth of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the society.

Song noted that the inauguration of the "2023 Constant Love Action" program was an integral part of specific measures taken by the CCTF to fully study and implement the guiding principles of important address by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping during a meeting with the new leadership of the ACWF and act on the guiding principles of important speeches as well as instructions by Xi concerning the work on Xinjiang. She asked women's federations nationwide to take the public welfare project as one of main carriers in pooling strength from the study, publicity and implementation of Xi's important speeches toward the organization. She also urged implementation of concrete programs to improve the livelihoods of children and their families, the CCTF to fully execute the charitable program and strive for higher achievements in the development of children-oriented public welfare and philanthropic affairs in the new era, and for media outlets to focus their reports on the values and importance of the charitable program and enhance the building of a strong sense of community and a common spiritual land for the Chinese nation.

Zhu said that Jiangsu will make full use of resources and assistance channels offered by the Party, sum up successful experiences in the implementation of the "Constant Love Action" program, and strive to meet the rising demands of women and children for a better life and make new contributions to the high-quality development of the cause of women and children.

Xing said that Lianyungang will endeavor to become a national demonstration place for the development of children-oriented charitable affairs and further promote the implementation of the "Constant Love Action" program.

Chen said that the "Constant Love Action" program has become an interactive channel among people from eastern China and children as well as families of all ethnic groups in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to strengthen their bonds. Chen hoped   more disadvantaged and ethnic children would receive donated handwoven sweaters.

Together with volunteer representatives, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and Henan Women's Federation spoke about their experiences in the implementation of the "Constant Love Action" program. 

A teenage recipient of the program said she and other beneficiaries have fully felt its love and warmth and that she would share with her classmates and other children the stories about the charitable project, make personal efforts for ethnic unity, and strive to be a model child with sound moral grounding, intellectual ability, physical vigor, aesthetic sensibility and work skills.

Attending officials and guests presented raw wool materials to representatives of central authorities, provincial-level women's federations and charity-minded families, and extended sweaters to teenage recipients.

They also visited an activity venue for children associated with the "Constant Love Action" program.

Statistics show that Hengyuanxiang Group has donated 410,000 kilograms of raw wool materials and cash of 125 million yuan ($17.53 million) to the "Constant Love Action" program since its establishment in 2005. It has worked with the CCTF to win the participation of all provincial-level women's federations, ministerial-level departments and over 100 charity-minded families and collected nearly 1.4 million sweaters to all ethnic children and other disadvantaged children in Xinjiang.
