Chinese figure skater and Olympic champion Sui Wenjing paid a visit to the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) in Beijing on August 17.
Sui held talks with Zhang Yanhong, Secretary-General of the CCTF, over such topics as children's development, charity and philanthropy, and rural revitalization.
In addition, Sui donated the skating boots she used when she won a gold medal for China during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games as well as all prospective copyright royalty from her forthcoming autobiography.
Zhang presented Sui with a certificate on behalf of the CCTF and thanked Sui for her support to the children's charity.
Noting that the children's cause is a sacred cause to foster talents for the Party and the nation, Zhang invited Sui to take part in their charitable activities and encourage more children to seek self-improvement and pursue their dreams.
Sui said that the Olympic spirit has taught athletes not only to aspire to win but also to never be afraid of failure, adding that she looks forward to planting the seed of the Olympic spirit, known as "Faster, Higher, Stronger and Together," in the heart of more children, especially those living in remote areas, through participation in charitable projects.
Meanwhile, Sui said that she will do her best to consolidate the progress in poverty alleviation and facilitate rural revitalization as well.
Those in attendance at the event included Li Kaisheng, head of the China Women Publishing House, and Wang Haijing, Deputy Secretary-General of the CCTF.
