The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) was awarded the "Philanthropic Role Model of the Year" title at a release ceremony for the 2022 China Charity Ranking & the 2021 Blue Book on Charity Donation Development in China on May 30.
The annual China Charity Ranking was launched by the China Philanthropy Times under the guidance of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and with the support of dozens of social organizations, as well as charity agencies, in 2004.
It is aimed at promoting the influence of philanthropic role models and the spirit of modern philanthropy and awarding representative philanthropic groups and individuals.
The year 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of the founding of the CCTF. Under the leadership of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), the CCTF has launched charitable projects, such as the Spring Bud Project, Happy Homes for Children, the Hello Kids Charity Program and the New Parent Academy / National Online Parent School, to fulfill its mission of nurturing talents, facilitate the comprehensive development of children and teenagers, extend love and assistance to children from impoverished families, and give full play to its functions in promoting family education and tradition over the past four decades.
Statistics show that the CCTF received donations totaling about 415 million yuan (US $61.8 million) and its spending on charity exceeded 414 million yuan (US $61.6 million) in 2021. Last year, it raised funds and materials worth 180 million yuan (US $26.8 million) from society in response to outbreaks of the COVID-19 epidemic and the floods in Central China's Henan Province, helping affected children and their families get through these difficult times.
