Editor's note:The Communist Party of China(CPC)celebrated the centenary of its founding in 2021.China has achieved its first centenary goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects on schedule and has begun a new journey toward the second centenary goal of fully building a modern socialist country.

The year 2021 was also a milestone in the history of the China Children and Teenagers'Fund(CCTF),which celebrated its 40th founding anniversary.The CCTF is dedicated to better safeguarding the rights and interests of children and teenagers with concrete measures.Let's look back on this extraordinary year for the charity organization.

This photo shows children receiving packages loaded with stationery,musical instruments and other goods from the HELLO Kids charity program during the New Year holiday.Nearly 60,000 such packages have been distributed to children in the provinces of Sichuan,Hebei,Henan,Gansu and other areas over the year.[CCTF]

This photo,taken before International Women's Day(March 8),shows a woman playing with her daughter in a parent-child activity sponsored by the Little Migrant Bird Fund in Changsha,a county in central China's Hunan Province.The fund has donated 160,000 publications and organized over 9,000 themed activities in 2021,benefiting over one million children across the country.[CCTF]

A nationwide publicity and education campaign for children was launched in Beijing on March 29 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.With the theme"Always Following the Party,"a number of activities such as recitation of classical revolutionary literature,trips to revolutionary relics of the May Fourth Movement,performances of the stage play"Monument in the Sun"and parent-child reading of revolutionary literature are organized to help children and teenagers learn more about the Party's history.[CCTF]

During International Children's Day(June 1),the CCTF extended festival greetings to children across the country through multiple activities,which included a parent-child walk for physical fitness,the distribution of scholarships and gifts,and providing assistance to disaster-affected children.[CCTF]

The Bailie Spring Bud Program launched its 20th anniversary commemorative activity on June 8 at Beijing Bailie University.The graduation ceremony of 101 students from the 2018 Bailie OSI Spring Bud Class was held.On December 17,the Bailie Wenhua Spring Bud Class,also the seventh Spring Bud Class of the university,opened with 31 girl students enrolled to open a new chapter of their lives.[CCTF]

The campaign of Childhood Guardian was launched in July.College students volunteered to provide free tutoring services to 15,000 left-behind children,and especially those from impoverished families in rural areas,during the summer vacation.[CCTF]

The CCTF launched an emergency response on July 21 to flood-affected children and their families in central China's Henan Province,providing daily supplies,foods,disinfectants and other epidemic prevention materials,as well as donations,worth totally more than 67 million yuan(US$10.6 million).[CCTF]

The CCTF and Tencent jointly initiated a project in Beijing on July 26 to improve the Spring Bud girls'literacy in technology and music.It is a creative component of the Spring Bud Project—Dream of the Future Action to promote the all-around development of girls.[CCTF]

During the summer vacation,the CCTF arranged beneficiaries of its projects such as the Spring Bud Project and the Little Migrant Bird Fund to visit revolutionary sites,art museums and the army's camp to further expand their horizons and light their dreams.[CCTF]

The CCTF worked with its partners to send emergency supplies such as clothes and foods to disaster-affected children and their families in North China's Shanxi Province in the wake of a flood that hit the province on October 5.[CCTF]

An exhibition was launched at the China National Museum of Women and Children in Beijing on October 11 to show the achievements made by the China Children and Teenagers'Fund(CCTF)during the past four decades.Shen Yueyue(2nd,R),Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress(NPC)and President of the All-China Women's Federation(ACWF),opened the exhibition.Huang Xiaowei(1st,R),Secretary of the Leading Party Members'Group and Vice-President and First Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF,gave a speech during the opening ceremony.Peng Peiyun(C),Gu Xiulian(3rd,L)and Chen Zhili(3rd,R),former vice-chairpersons of the NPC Standing Committee and former presidents of the ACWF,attended the opening ceremony.[CCTF]

On October 11,the 10th International Day of the Girl Child,Peng Liyuan,special envoy for the Spring Bud Project to promote girls'education in China,announced the launch of an initiative that called for joint efforts to contribute to the promotion and implementation of the Spring Bud Project—Dream of the Future Action.The action aims to advance girls'education and to help them realize dreams.[CCTF]

The CCTF launched an official WeChat account for the"New Academy for Parents and National Online School for Parents"public welfare project on November 24.It aims to build a high-quality new media platform for family education and provide millions of parents with wide access to scientific and practical online courses on family education.[CCTF]

The 2021"Eternal Love Action—One-Line Linkage of Millions of Families"Project was launched online on December 28,2021.According to the CCTF,86 central and State organs,and the women's federations of 30 of China's provinces,municipalities or autonomous regions,including the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps,participated in the project in 2021.The project's participants conveyed their love and care to children in need through the knitted sweaters.[CCTF]

These photos show students from Spring Bud classes.Statistics show that,in 2021,the ACWF and women's federations across the country rallied support from people in various sectors,totally raising 262 million yuan(US$41.2 million),supporting 97,814 girls in their education and benifiting 5.04 million girls in other ways.[CCTF]
