The opening ceremony of the Bailie Wenhua Spring Bud Class was held at Beijing Bailie University on December 17,2021.

Huang Mengfu,Honorary President of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce(ACFIC)and Honorary President of Beijing Bailie University,Zhu Dongyun,Deputy Secretary-General of China Children and Teenagers'Fund(CCTF),representatives from the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries,the International Committee for the Promotion of Chinese Industrial Cooperatives,other donors and charity-minded individuals attended the opening ceremony.Yu Lin,President of Beijing Bailie University,presided over the ceremony.

Beijing Bailie University was one of the first private higher education institutes in China.With the support of the All-China Women's Federation(ACWF)and the CCTF,the university in 2001 became a partner of the CCTF's flagship Spring Bud Project,which has helped put girls from poor backgrounds into classrooms,and has built the country's first Spring Bud class in the university.Since then,it has sponsored six Spring Bud classes and offered financial assistance to 236 female students from impoverished families to complete their college education.Bailie Wenhua Spring Bud Class,the university's seventh Spring Bud class,was named after its late President Liu Wenhua(1932-2020).

In his speech,Huang said that many students have contributed to social and economic development after their graduation.He urged students to be grateful for the assistance they have received from charity-minded organizations,enterprises and individuals,strive for higher achievements,and make contributions to the country and the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.

Zhu called on girl students of the Spring Bud Class to pass on the good traditions of the Spring Bud Project,have firm beliefs and personal ideals,develop strong skills,give back to society and the country,integrate their personal growth with the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation,and become well-prepared to take part in the construction of the socialist cause.

The year 2021 marks the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China(CPC),the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the CCTF and the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Bailie Spring Bud Class,said Niu,adding that all faculty members of the university will always keep the country in their hearts and work together to support the Spring Bud Project.

Yu said that the university will do its utmost to promote the all-round development of girl students of the Spring Bud Class and make more contributions to the cause of education.

"I was very lucky to attend the first Bailie Spring Bud Class 20 years ago.With the help of people from all walks of life,I successfully completed my three-year academic studies at the university,"said Wang,adding that she has achieved her personal dream and that she will contribute more efforts to supporting the project and pass on love to others in need.

Thirty-one outstanding girl students in need,from 11 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions,were enrolled by the Bailie Wenhua Spring Bud Class,and they have studied in combined 16 majors at the university.
