Annual 'Spring Bud Aoding' Education Aid Program Sets Sail

The donation and launch ceremony of this year's "Spring Bud  Aoding" education aid program was held in Beijing on June 8, marking the sixth year of cooperation between the China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) and the Qingdao Aoding Health Industry Group.

The enterprise donated 1.5 million yuan (US $231,770) to the CCTF at the ceremony. In the past six years, it has donated a total of 7 million yuan (US $1.08 million). Zhu Xisheng, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the CCTF, accepted the donation and awarded a flag to the charity event.

"Since its establishment 40 years ago, the CCTF has always adhered to its original mission of serving children and serving the overall situation. It is committed to creating more opportunities for children and adolescents to enjoy a better life on an equal basis," said Zhu.

This year, the "Spring Bud  Aoding" activity will further improve the project by using "one-on-one" and "pairing" methods to support girls from distressed families. It will invite health experts to popularize health concepts and nutrition knowledge to ensure the healthy growth of girls.

Yang Xiaojie, Chairman of Qingdao Aoding Health Industry Group, said that the "Spring Bud  Aoding" charity event is an important part of the group's corporate culture strategy. 

He said he hopes that through practical actions, the charity culture of ethics and morality will be cultivated, so that more caring people from all walks of life will participate in the charity and work hard to solve problems for the "Spring Bud" girls.

Eight experts from the field of nutrition and health were invited to offer advisory services for the charity event.

As a representative, Ma Fang, head of the Department of Clinical Nutrition, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, said that he hopes the project can help children learn health knowledge, develop an autonomous and self-disciplined healthy lifestyle, and promote the concept of "everyone is the first person responsible for their own health."

Since 1989, the "Spring Bud" Project has focused on the diverse development needs of girls, including material assistance, spiritual care, supporting girls who are out of school, paying attention to the physical and mental health of girls, and conveying the care of the Party and the warmth of society through love and action.

As of the end of 2020, the "Spring Bud" Project has funded more than 3.86 million girls and distributed 2.17 million sets of care manuals to needy girls. It has also participated in home visits, online communication and summer camps.
