"See the future clearly and move forward" --China Children and Teenagers’ Fund Live Broadcast of Children’s Myopia Prevention and Control

2020/06/12

In a special period, students and teachers across the country achieved "stopping classes without stopping school" in the form of online teaching. However, during the months of online learning, students’ vision problems have also become a hot topic of discussion and concern among parents, teachers, schools and all walks of life.

The prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents has always been an area that the China Children and Teenagers' Fund attaches great importance to. On June 6th, World Eyes Day is coming soon, the China Children and Teenagers' Fund "Children’s Myopia Prevention and Control Project" launched a public welfare live class on the prevention and control of myopia for adolescents with the theme "Vision 2020 Concerning General Eye Health", Beijing Tongren Hospital Prof. Song Hongxin, Executive Deputy Director of the Optometry Center of Ophthalmology, and Prof. Wang Kai, Chief Physician of the Department of Ophthalmology, Beijing People's Hospital, will come to the classroom to answer questions for students and parents who are concerned about eye care and eye health. We will vigorously promote the prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents from three aspects: rational use of eyes and attention to children's eye health; scientific prevention and control of myopia for a bright future; emphasis on low vision rehabilitation and improvement of visual quality.

The public welfare class will be broadcast live on the official Douyin of the China Children and Teenagers' Fund at 19:00 on the evening of June 6. Finally, the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund once again reminded the students to cherish the eyes, combine work and rest, and take part in outdoor sports. Parents are also asked to arrange the students’ study and life in a reasonable manner. Let us “care for the eyes of children together and let them have A bright future"!
