2019 Eagle Soaring Project Summer Camp Ended Successfully

The flight took off from Beijing to Yan’an on August 7, 2019, marking the official start of the 2019 Eagle Soaring Project Summer Camp of the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF).

This activity organized and carried out two sessions of "Eagle Soaring -  Zhongxin Red Inheritance Summer Camp" for the minor children of some families of the public security police who died, were disabled or had special difficulties in the east and northwest regions. The first part of the activity organized students from Shanghai and Zhejiang province to go to Yan 'an to retake the route of the Eighth Route Army's glorious revolution and learn the Yan 'an spirit. The second activity organized children from Xinjiang, Xizang and Qinghai provinces to come to Shanghai to enjoy the profound cultural heritage of Shanghai and the rapid development of China's science and technology. With the theme of "Stay True to the Mission", the activity looked back at the history and looked forward to the future.

Lu Dong (not his real name), a 16-year-old boy from Shanghai, is a member of the Yan’an Summer Camp. Teenage campers look at each other and wonder how to start the DIY Lunch part of the Nanniwan outward bound. Only Lu Dong said, "I can cook!" and volunteered to be a chef and lead the rest of the team in cooking a great lunch. When he heard everyone's praise, he smiled shyly and talked about the origin of good cooking. "There are only two people in my family, my mother and I. My mother is busy with her work, so I usually prepare meals for her to eat at home." The words moved everyone.

“Learning Yan’an Spirit” – extension training of Nanniwan production activity

Compared with his peers, Lu Dong is very mature. He also takes care of other partners along the way, especially his younger brother Xiao Hui (not his real name), who is 5 years younger than he is. He always gives Xiao Hui a hand at the first time. When the teacher worried that Xiaohui was too young to wash clothes, lu dong said, "I have already washed his clothes for him." His carefulness and maturity have won the praise of all campers and leaders. Talking about the feelings of the summer camp, Lu Dong said with a smile, “This time to Yan’an I learned a lot, and got real experience of ‘Yan’an Spirit’. More importantly, Eagle Soaring Project has made me know many friends with similar family situations, and know that there are still many people who care about us, and I am not alone in growing up.”

Children in the summer camp in Shanghai studied first aid knowledge carefully

A Bu (not his real name), a boy from Xinjiang, is a very serious boy. During the first aid course "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation" in the summer camp in Shanghai, although his left arm was injured and could not achieve the standard movement that both arms must be straight, he still communicated with the teacher seriously about the rules of action and completed the first aid operation with his right hand. "We don't have access to this kind of learning," he said. "Chances are so hard. If we miss this chance, we may miss a life." In Shanghai History Museum, he felt the one-hundred-year history of Shanghai in the teacher's explanation, from the prosperity of old Shanghai glamour to the rest of the world in the nowadays the bund. "This is my first time to come to Shanghai. From this experience, I broadened my horizon, learned a lot of new knowledge, and knew a lot of friend. I feel happy because I can grow up with so many people to accompany."

Shanghai Yuyangli interactive learning experience

In the summer camp, nearly 30 campers learned about the history of the Communist Party of China at Yuyangli, experienced the life of Yan 'an of the older generation of revolutionaries in Nanniwan, experienced the development of modern Shanghai and remembered the spirit of Yan 'an. Some campers who are about to enter the university also expressed the hope that they could become volunteers of “Eagle Soaring Project” in the future to help more younger brothers and sisters gain feelings of growth and inherit the revolutionary spirit.

On the last day of the summer camp, the closing ceremony of "Eagle Soaring - Zhongxin Red Inheritance Summer Camp" was held in Pudong branch of Shanghai Public Security Bureau. Shanghai Huajing Dental Clinic donated warm Aid Fund and grants to the juveniles of the public security police who died in the line of duty in Shanghai and Xizang.

The leaders and the families of the policemen who died in the line of duty attended the ceremony.

It is reported that the Eagle Soaring Project is a public welfare program support minor children of public security guided by the Ministry of Public Security and the All-China Women's Federation, launched by China Children and Teenagers' Fund and the Ministry of Public Security Personnel Training. CCTF and Zhongxin Borui Integrated Marketing Consulting Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Zhongxin Tourism Group, jointly planned the “Eagle Soaring – Zhongxin Red Inheritance Summer Camp”.
