The unveiling ceremony for the “Happy Home for Children” in Lange Village, Yunnan Province was held in the afternoon of April 25.

Qu Limin, deputy director of the Administrative Department of the Ministry of Finance, Liu Aiping, deputy inspector of the General Office of the All-China Women’s Federation, unveiled the “Happy Home for Children”. After the unveiling ceremony, the leaders and guests visited the Happy Home for Children. They gave high praise on the books, toys, stationery, computer projectors and other supporting facilities at the Happy Home for Children, as well as the parent-child companionship, theme education and other activities to enrich children’s spiritual life, and put forward valuable suggestions.

Meanwhile, taking “Happy Home for Children” as the front, the program will carry out parent-child video, classroom, reading and games, so as to enhance family communication, strengthen the publicity and popularization of family education and scientific knowledge, and optimize the family and social environment for left-behind children to grow up.

The Ministry of Finance has always attached great importance to the support and care of left-behind children in rural areas. The “Happy Home for Children” public welfare program has been funded by the Central Special Lottery Welfare Fund for six consecutive years from 2016 to 2021, with an annual fund of 15 million yuan. At present, 454 “Happy Home for Children” supported by the Central Special Lottery Welfare Fund for 2016-2018 have been built and put into use in township and village communities where left-behind children are concentrated in 18 provinces, including Hebei, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hunan, Gansu and Guizhou. By the end of 2018, the program had donated 1,065 “Happy Home for Children” in 31 provinces and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, with a total investment of 106.5 million yuan, through raising social funds and the support of the Central Special Lottery Welfare Fund.
