In order to promote children’s food safety science education, the National Children’s Food Safety Protection Action painting competition has been held for two consecutive years, and received excellent paintings from children from all over the country. This exhibition was the first time to display the excellent awarded works of two painting competitions, presenting children’s whimsy about food safety in public. Children used brushes to depict the perception and understanding of food safety, and understand children’s food safety knowledge in a relaxed, happy and creative atmosphere.
In the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Wang Yan, director of the program from CCTF, said that “Each piece of work is full of children's desire for food safety knowledge and enthusiasm to participate in artistic creation. While making us deeply infected, it also inspires us to make contributions to help children's food safety and enhance children's cultural literacy for a long time!”
Zhou Weiping, the representative of Walmart Foundation and director of Wal-mart China Corporate Affairs, said that she hopes theses food safety education programs through schools, communities, mobile experience camps and learning boxes will have a long-term positive impact on children’s health.

In the interactive zone, “Monopoly Game of Food Safety” combined monopoly game with food safety science popularization, so that parents and children can learn food safety knowledge in a relaxed and happy atmosphere. “I learned in the game that if you only eat meat without vegetables, your hair will turn yellow.” In the art zone, “Refrigerator Stickers DIY” attracted the interest of many children, who came to the scene to pick up the brush, their food safety tips into a colorful world, to make their own theme refrigerator stickers, brooches or exquisite key rings.
With the children’s painting exhibition, the organizers have designed creative IP gifts, such as practical environmental-friendly canvas bags, and artistic theme postcards... As soon as the dazzling gifts appeared, they attracted the attention of the parents and children present, and stopped to participate in the network platform donation. All the money from charity sale will be donated to the “National Children’s Food Safety Protection Action” program, which will be used to produce comic books and hands-on learning boxes on food safety and nutrition for children, and sent to primary schools in poor areas to help more children acquire useful knowledge.
In the future, CCTF and China Nutrition and Health Food Association will work together with caring enterprises to publicize and promote children’s food safety, achieve the goal of popular science education through various forms of activities, and protect children’s food safety in the atmosphere of fun and education.
