A Training Course for Safety Lecturers of CCTF was Held in Beijing

Safety made it beautiful. From March 30 to April 1, the first Safety Popular Science Training Course for instructors of children’s disaster risk reduction public welfare program was held in Beijing. 39 teachers from more than 20 primary and secondary schools in 5 provinces and cities across the country participated in the 3-day training, which covered youth safety education, campus fire safety, campus safety and first aid, campus psychological safety, VR safety education and earthquake first aid, and so on.

Yuan Jiajun, brand director of Douyin said that this training lecture is to train safety instructors in primary and secondary schools across the country to ensure the implementation and sustainable development of children’s disaster risk reduction program. I hope this training can help instructors better master the knowledge and skills of disaster risk reduction and benefit more children.

No matter at home or abroad, it is a potentially unsafe behavior, and it is easy for them to become the target of financial violence.” Wang Xuejun, an international safety education expert from the Safety Education Professional Committee of the China Institute of Education Development Strategy, and his assistant Chen Te, gave a live lecture on self protection. They showed techniques such as accidentally falling down in a high gathering place, with the most advantageous self-protection posture to adopt, and how to break away from the drag of criminals. “The knowledge and skills were so practical that I will remember and share with teachers and students when I go back”, said Liu Jingyou, a teacher from Shanxi Province.

Wang Aiping, senior engineer of Beijing Fire Association, taught a course on fire safety education. Student watched the video of fire in closed room together, and learned the correct response in case of fire. She also shared tips of school fire safety in the course.

Wen Xinhua, the first aid lecturer of Beijing Emergency Medical Training Center taught a lecture on first aid skills. She gave detailed explanation and practical exercises on the common injuries to children and first aid skills. Children learned the spiral-wrap method, the herringbone wrap method and the simple stretcher made of two pieces of clothes.

In the lecture, participants discussed how to help children solve their psychological problems. “In the class, experts used psychological sand table to analyse students’ psychological projection and stress change, which was a new experience for me.” “As a teacher, we often get along with students, we must pay attention to students’ self-esteem when criticizing them, and teachers should learn to relieve self-pressure.” Ou Yongling, director of the Psychological Teaching and Research Center at the Education and Training Center of Beijing Normal University, said that we should accompany children more, and listen to their needs and understand their difficulties. The intervention for students is not to solve problems, but to create a psychological space for students to solve their own difficulties.

In VR experience teaching, 39 students learned to use VR equipment to carry out escape drills in the earthquake scene simulation. In the virtual simulation world, fire, earthquake and other disasters seem to be happening, and everyone is worried. “The scene of visiting the 4D movie and the earthquake ruins was so shocking”, students said.

It is reported that the public welfare program for children’s disaster risk reduction will not only hold the training for teachers of disaster risk reduction, but also donate 10 classrooms for children’s disaster risk reduction nationwide in the future. It will distribute children’s disaster risk reduction education manuals, make children’s disaster risk reduction popular science video, regularly hold safety knowledge contest, summer/winter camp, first lesson of holiday safety, and other activities, so that children continue to enhance safety awareness, improve self-rescue and risk aversion ability, so that knowledge into common sense, skills into instinct.
