2,500 Sets of Love Book Boxes Light Up the Dreams of Poor Children

In the early morning of March 12, China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF), love enterprise Breo, as well as charity ambassador Wang Zulan came to Huaishuzhuang Primary School at Fuping, Hebei, bringing 2,500 sets of love book boxes and more than 30,000 books to children from 14 primary and middle school students in Fuping.

“Thank you, uncles and aunts, to let us know the wonderful world outside.” The children wrote solemnly and carefully about how they felt after receiving the book. Seeing the happy smiling faces of the children after they got the books, Dong Fei, deputy director of Fuping Bureau of Education and Sports, said that “I hope these books can bring new knowledge to the children in the mountain areas and bring them a different world.”

Located in the hinterland of Taihang Mountain, Fuping is a national main poverty-stricken county with less cultivated land, poor infrastructure and inconvenient transportation. In recent years, Fuping county has achieved phased results in poverty alleviation, and the incidence of poverty has dropped significantly. However, for most left-behind children, spiritual comfort is still lacking, while books fill their hearts, build a bridge to understand the outside world, and provide possibilities for them to break through the limitations of their environment.

It is known that the love book boxes are equipped with different books according to different age groups for primary school students. For students in grade one and grade two, the love book boxes contain 17 books (eight of which are phonetic versions), while for students from grade three to junior high school, the love book boxes contain 12 books. A postage-paid thank-you card was placed in each of the “Love Book Box”, donors who reserve contact information will receive an hand-written thank-you card by the child they helped.

Ambassador Wang Zulan participated in the activity, and launched a public welfare promotion activity in airports and high-speed railway stations across the country. For very product sold, they will donated 36 yuan for Children’s Book Box Fund, which not only passed on health, but also enabled more people to participate in public welfare donation.
