On February 26, China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) and New Oriental Education & Technology Group announced to jointly launch the “New Oriental Spring Bud Education Support Program”, which focuses on supporting the study and life of children in poor areas, and carrying out travel, study, research and learning activities for the children to help them cultivate the feeling of home and country and improve the traditional Chinese cultural literacy.
It is reported that New Oriental Education and Technology Group will donate 1 million yuan to CCTF every year to support the “Spring Bud” project for five consecutive years from 2019, with a total donation of 5 million yuan.
Zhao Wen, secretariat of the All-China Women’s Federation, said at the donation ceremony in 26 that the “Spring Bud x New Oriental Education Support” program is a practical action to carry out the spirit of Xi Jinping’s speech.
Zhao Wen pointed out that the public welfare project of “Spring Bud” project has passed the Party’s care and social warmth with love and actions, played a unique role in promoting girls’ education and gender equality, and is of great significance in the history of girls’ education and development in China. On behalf of the All-China Women’s Federation, she fully recognized and appreciated New Oriental Education and Technology Group for its courage in assuming corporate social responsibility, and for its contribution to student aid and social practice education for primary and secondary school students.
Yu Minhong, the chairman of New Oriental introduced the company’s long-term at the donation ceremony involved in the practice of charity, has said it plans to make full use of the company in the social education training the leading edge of the industry, in cooperation with CCTF, to support “Spring Bud” project, and help the growth of rural children in poor areas together to build a system, and help bridge the urban and rural education gap.
In addition to the academic and life support, the“Spring Bud x New Oriental Education Support”will also conduct various kinds of activities, in order to understand the excellent traditional culture, the perception of the Chinese long history, a journey of red as the theme, helping children to broader their vision, set up the dream, and enhance the moral tutelage, social responsibility and the feelings.
The “Spring Bud”project was initiated by CCTF in 1989. Over the past 30 years, with the loving support of all sectors of society, a total of 3.69 million girls have been funded, 1,811 Spring Bud schools have been built, 527,000 girls have received vocational training, and 2.17 million Bud Care Manuals have been compiles and distributed. A large number of girls in poverty-stricken areas have made unremitting efforts to become outstanding talents in all walks of life under the support of “Spring Bud” project.
