Professor Ling Feng Won the 13th “Love Award”

The 13th “Love Award” hosted by Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan Charity Foundation was held in Hong Kong in December 2018. Ling Feng, Niu Gengsheng and Cai Haibing from Mainland China and Jiang Songhua, Lin Zhiling, Chien Wen-Hsiu and Chen Rongji from the Taiwan region were the winners of the award, and each winner will receive the prize of $130,000. According to her wish, professor Ling Feng will donate all the prize to CCTF, which is dedicated to helping ethnic orphans.

Launched in 2006, the “Love Award” aims to select models of selfless love, influence and drive more people towards a better and harmonious future. A total of 7 winners of the 13th “Love Award” were selected after careful procedures of preliminary, reply and final selection. Professor Ling Feng, as a candidate recommended by Mainland China, passed the evaluation with high votes in all aspects.

Professor Ling Feng, the director of neurosurgery department of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University, is a world-renowned expert in neurosurgery. In 2005, the National Orphan Relief Fund was established by professor Ling Feng. Over the past 14 years, over 70 million yuan has been raised to fund the study and life of 1,350 students of Yunnan Lijiang National Orphan School. In 2009, China-INI Neuroscience Development Fund was launched to raise funds for organizing international exchange and continuing education programs, training young and middle-aged neurologists, carrying out various public welfare activities, popularizing knowledge on the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of neurological disease to the public, and promote the development of public health. In 2012, the N to N Fund was launched to raise funds to help outstanding neurosurgeons in underdeveloped regions improve their medical level. In 2017, Beijing Lingfeng Public Welfare Foundation was established to support poor students to go to school and patients to seek medical treatment, and to carry out poverty alleviation public welfare activities.
