On November 10, the first class of “Convoy Plan Parents Class” organized by CCTF and Citic Prudential Life has been launched in Beijing. As an important part of “Convoy Plan”, the “Convoy Plan Parents Class” aims to guide parents to pay attention to family education and learn new education concept from perspective of consciousness, to help parents build rational view of children’s learning path, and to improve children’s safety awareness in daily lives, so as to ensure the healthy and happy growth of children.

Pay Attention to the New Needs of Students’ Growth, Launch the Convoy Plan for Families

In 2017, the number of Chinese students studying abroad exceeded 600,000 for the first time, maintaining the status of the world’s largest source of international students. More and more Chinese families are considering sending their children to study abroad in order to broaden their international horizons and grasp diversified ways of thinking. However, a considerable number of parents do not really know about the life of studying abroad, and the lack of knowledge about planning and guidance and safety of studying abroad, as well as the differences in living and cultural environment in foreign countries also cause various in-adaptability of international students, and the safety concerns has gradually become the most worrying issue for parents.

Family is the first school of life, and parents are the first teachers of their children. To teach children the “first lesson of life” and help them to live a better life, “Convoy Plan Parents Class” will gather many experts in education and safety, in order to create a neutral and objective Convoy Class for overseas students.

Zhu Xisheng, the Secretary General of CCTF pointed out that it is the mission and responsibility of CCTF and the original intention of “Convoy Plan Parents Class” to help parents do a good job in family education and support for overseas students through the Convoy Plan. In the future, the “Convoy Plan Parents Class” will solve the problems of overseas education and safety, such as “how to view overseas study rationally”, and “how to deal with risks and challenges faced by overseas study”, and provide multidimensional support for overseas families.

Class and Camp Complement Each Other to Create a Systematic Knowledge System

Based on the content of knowledge and safety of studying abroad, the “Convoy Plan Parents Class” has carried out two series of teaching activities of “Class” and “Camp” throughout the country, striving to build a professional, comprehensive and systematic curriculum system. The first course of “Convoy Plan Parents Class” will focus on topics such as “How to View Studying Abroad”, “The Purpose of Studying Abroad” and “Risks that Children may Face”. A number of topics will be selected about real case studies and tailor an authoritative and professional knowledge manual for parents according to the needs of students. “Safe Education Parents Camp” is aiming at the safety issue of studying abroad that parents are most concerned about, carefully sorting out five safety compulsory courses, and inviting well-known experts in the field of safety to jointly open a national public welfare lecture, actively popularizing safety education.

The First Course of “Convoy Plan Parents Class” Begins

The first course of “Convoy Plan Parents Class” invited veteran experts of Chinese study abroad field Lao Cha and well-known psychologist Wang Yirui to teach together. Lao Cha focused on three aspects: the establishment of a rational view of studying abroad, the cultivation of thinking mode in a global perspective and the guidance of cultural confidence. Wang Yirui provided practical and effective suggestions for parents to help overseas students do well in psychological construction and guarantee the safety of overseas study from the point of view of the psychological safety needs of students that Chinese parents are most likely to ignore.

During the event, the “First Class of Overseas Education Support - Study Abroad Knowledge List” was issued and delivered to parents and students, to help families establish the correct concept of study planning.

It is reported that the “Convoy Plan Parents Class” will be held in 19 provinces and cities, in order to help more families to popularize safety education, guidance to study abroad planning.
