On September 19, the first "Happy Home for Children" in Leshan, Sichuan province donated by SM China was officially unveiled at the Party Group Service Center in Donglin town, Jingyan county, creating a happy world integrating learning, reading and cultural and sports activities for over 200 left-behind children.

"Happy Home for Children" is a public welfare project launched in 2014 by the?All-China?Women?Federation and China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) for villages and towns where left-behind children are concentrated. It aims to provide such services as study and life, family care, safety protection and mental health for left-behind children, and optimize the family and social environment for children's growth. At present, 874 "Happy Home for Children" have been donated to 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and Xinjiang production and construction corps.

SM China donated 60㎡ of "Happy Home for Children", which is equipped with books, musical instruments, educational toys and stationery. There are also TV, computer and other communication equipment, so that left-behind children can make regular video calls with their parents, making it more convenient for family connections. After the ceremony, more than 20 children were eager to experience the long-awaited toys and books. They sat around the table and opened new picture books and read carefully. In the next five years, SM China will contribute to at least two happy homes for children every year, with a total of at least 10 projects. The target provinces and cities will cover Xiamen, Suzhou, Chongqing, Shandong and Tianjin. All shopping centers in SM China set up the "Happy Home for Children" donation center at the end of may, and any donations can be obtained with the small loving gifts provided by SM.A variety of public welfare activities will be held in the shopping center in the future to call for more citizens to pay attention and join the team to protect the left-behind children.

After the Happy Home for Children started up, the local Women Federation will organize volunteers to carry out rich and colorful style recreational activities, such as parent-child class, children's science, protecting children from the knowledge training, psychological guidance and counseling, family education guidance service, love mother pair support, etc., to help left-behind children changes in communication, confidence in the cooperation, growing up in happiness. After the activity, the leaders and guests also visited families of left-behind children in poverty and sent them daily necessities such as quilts and rice to understand their living and learning needs.
