CCTF Partners with Young Zen Foundation to Boost Education Equality

The “Qianmiao Plan”, an innovative education charity project, was launched by the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) and Beijing Young Zen Foundation on May 20, 2018. Mr. Zeng Yong donated 10 million yuan to fund the project.

Aiming to enhance education equity, the project will be committed to working on with experts in fields of science and education so as to provide children, especially those who are lack of development opportunities with access to quality education resources and opportunities.

Qianmiao Plan donor Zeng Yong shared his experience engaged in education charity over years focusing on education for teenagers and children and research in the traditional culture field. It is his long-cherished wish for many years to foster many a talented people who are interested in Chinese culture and are willing to learn it, which is the reason why he made the donation to Qianmiao Plan.

The first phase of the Qianmiao Plan will openly select the first batch of teenagers in 20 state-level poverty counties across China and sponsored them for 7 to 13 years until they graduate from university, said Zhou Weiyan, chairman of the Young Zen Foundation. Meanwhile, it will help promote equal education opportunity by sharing children and teachers in impoverished areas scientific learning methods and enable them to get access to quality educational resources.
