Teenager Cultural Relics Theme Camp Kicks Off

On May 18th, on the occasion of the International Museum Day, the “New Growth Project” launched its first charity camp themed on teenager cultural relics study travel at the Shanghai Museum.

As many as 50 student representatives from Inner Mongolia minority areas and the rural areas in Hunan Province where left-behind children live joined the camp over the next four days to experience the study travel to many places, including Jiaxing and Suzhou. The students took this chance to explore the world and expand knowledge so that they can truly understand traditional Chinese culture.

The “New Growth Project” young people cultural relics study travel charity camp was launched by the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) and Tencent Foundation. It aims to bridge the imbalance of educational resources in different regions, help young children gain abilities to adapt to the society, provide equal education opportunities for children in ethnic areas and underdeveloped areas in China’s central and western regions, and offer young people the immersive, inquiry-style learning scenario.

Tencent Foundation provided financial support for the event.
