The “Escort Project”, a charity campaign launched by the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) and other organizations to protect and provide care for children who study abroad kicked off in Beijing, on April 14th.
Around 2.31 million students have been back to China after finishing their studies abroad over the past five years, according to data released by the Ministry of Education.
As a public welfare project that helps to develop talents in the new era, this project hopes young students to enhance their confidence and have high aspiration when living and studying in foreign countries.
Zhu Xisheng, secretary-general of the CCTF, delivers a speech at the launching ceremony, saying that the project tries to meet students demands in foreign countries with focus on culture, safety, and services. Both cultural activities and public services, including psychological counseling, SOS emergency rescue, finance, international airlines services will be put in place for students.

Li Qingping, deputy general manager of CITIC Group, chairman of China CITIC Bank and deputy chairman of CITIC Prudential Life Insurance, said CITIC Group’s CITIC Bank, CITIC Prudential Life Insurance, CITIC Bank (International), Baixin Bank, and CITIC International Investment Group and other group companies will join the efforts together.
At the event, Li Qingping, on behalf of China CITIC Bank, donated 10 million yuan to the escort project. This was the second time that CITIC Group's company donated money to the project after CITIC Prudential Life Insurance donated 10 million yuan last year.
