Officers and soldiers of the PLA Air Force, the All-China Women's Federation, and the China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF), held a donation activity at Taihe County in Jiangxi Province, on April 10.
Taihe County is located in the south gate of Jinggang Mountain, the cradle of revolution. It has a total area of 2,667 square kilometers and a population of 587,000, administering 24 towns and 297 administrative villages.
This was the 15th time the PLA Air Force officers have made donations to the “Spring Bud Project”, with a donation of 15 million yuan ($2.39 million). The money is mainly used to build the Blue Sky Spring Bud Schools in the old revolutionary base areas such as the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia region, Jiangxi-Fujian-Guangdong region, and Dabie Mountain area, to help poor students to go to school, provide training for teachers, and give girls in teens professional skills training.

Since 1995, the PLA Air Force has been engaged in poverty-alleviation philanthropy for 24 consecutive years. It has been working on the "Blue Sky Spring Buds Project" with the CCTF, sponsoring 28,877 children to complete their studies, and helping build 94 schools and 110 "Happy Children’s Home”.

Thanks to the efforts of the Air Force, 3,910 spring bud school teachers and girls in teens got training, more than 40,000 infants and young children had better nutrition, and over 1,000 children with congenital heart disease were treated. The Air Force’s officers have accumulatively donated 140 million yuan from wages and allowances, making the "Blue Sky Spring Bud Project" an important part of the "Spring Bud Project."
