Summary Meeting on Efforts against Vitiligo Held in Beijing

The China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) held a children vitiligo treatment project summary meeting in Beijing, on April 12, 2018. The third-year project that is to provide rescue assistance for children with vitiligo reviewed its implementation and results, and summarized project experiences.

The project will increase its efforts to provide treatment for children with vitiligo, especially for those in impoverished rural areas, said Xu Xu, deputy secretary-general of the CCTF. It will better care for the psychological health of children and adolescents with vitiligo, and help more children enjoy a better life.

Gao Yumei, head of the Beijing Guodan Vitiligo Hospital, gave a speech at the meeting, saying that as the project's clinical execution agency, the hospital had undertaken the clinical treatment of all children suffering from vitiligo since the start of the project.

The hospital also actively participated in other charity activities, such as public promotion and training, she said, adding it will work hard to help more children get timely and effective treatment. .

Xu Xu presented certificates to enterprises and individuals who donated one million yuan to the project for their caring action.

Since the launch of the project in 2015, the project has sponsored more than 600 young people with vitiligo in more than 20 provinces across China.
