The Children Charity Institute of China Children and Teenagers’ Fund (CCTF) launched a “hand in hand” charity project that aims to protect children’s safety and health on Nov 4.
Members of the CCTF’s Children Charity Institute and twenty voluntary families from Beijing gave 300 “safety and health bags” to left behind children at a primary school in Wutaishan County, North China’s Shanxi Province, marking the start of the project.
The health improvement action is a nationwide charity project initiated by the CCTF, working as the ties between children in urban and rural areas. Children living in cities teach the children in rural areas to learn good sanitation habits, increase self-protection awareness, and obtain related skills.
The health bag given to rural children is comprised of cleanser, a safety emergency kit, a book on children safety, a towel, and a sports bag. The children at the school were taught how to use the articles in the bag.
“This activity is a platform that helps children in cities to understand doing something capable enough for others is no less exciting as being taken care by others,” a parent volunteer said after participation in the activity.
The project could also increase communication between children in both urban and rural areas. It will be carried out in more regions to safeguard the health and safety of our children.
