Following the Wenchuan earthquake, China Children and Teenager’s Fund with the help of Shandong Rizhao Iron and Steel Group (RISG), Ltd., made an emergency disaster relief effort which transferred 522 orphans and needy children from earthquake area to Rizhao An Kang home in Shandong province. Starting from May 27, 2008 and This program continues to support children to pursue their daily studies thanks to financial sponsorship from RISG and the strong support from the shandong local government.
Early this year, Rizhao Iron and Steel Group (RISG) donated to CCTF about 1 hundred million yuan to build An Kang Home and primary and secondary schools in shuangliu district ,Chengdu ,Sichuan province. June 18, 522 children embarked on their trip back home from Rizhao An Kang home. China Railway provide a special train for this special philanthropic trip . CCTF and RISG dispatch a team of 120 personnels to take care of children during the trip.

At nine thirty in the morning, a ceremony was held for children returning to Sichuan.
Vice-president and member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), Zhen Yan, Vice Governor of People's Government of Shandong Province, Li Zhaoqian, Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation, Fan Jiying, and Deputy General Manager of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Wang Lifei, participated in the ceremony.
The children expressed, “We now know what care and true happiness mean. We learned gratitude and giving love to others.”  This quote comes from the children onboard the train NO L968, which is a special train for transporting the children to their hometown.The train also provides many activities and fun experiences for the children onboard.
After two days of traveling, the 522 children returned safely to their hometown.
At eight thirty, train NO.L968 arrived in Guangyuan station. The grandfather of one of the children on the train remarked as he was tearfully, but happily reunited with his grandson, “What a terrible fate!The boy lost his parents when he was so young.  However, the government is helping him to grow up happily and I appreciate the efforts of the government .”
Secretary General of China Children and Teenager’s Fund, Liying Song, Deputy General Manager of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Ren Sanming, and Guangyuan deputy secretary of the committee and mayor of Guangyuan city, Mahua, greeted the children at the station. 
At 12:02 pm ,122 children arrive in Mianyang. General Manager of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd., Bao Zhensheng, was present to welcome the children back to Mianyang. At 14:41pm, the train arrived at Deyang station and left off  91 children as well as Qi Jianxin, the headmaster of An Kang Home.  Although Qi Jianxin has only been the headmaster of the home for one year, he has developed lasting friendships and connections with the children. They call him “uncle or grandfather”.  In reference to his children, Mr. Qi said, “They can call me whatever they want, they are my own children in my eyes.”Vice-Secretary General of China Children and Teenager’s Fund Wu Zhenying welcomed them at the station.At 16:25 pm, train No.L968 arrived at the last station of the trip, Chengdu south station.128 children met their families and bid farewell to the personnel onboard.  Vice-president of China Children and Teenager’s Fund, Cheng shuqing, and Deputy General Manager of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. ,Wang Lifei welcomed them at the station.522 children successfully returned to their hometowns.  They will now grow up in a healthy and safe environment with the help of CCTF and Rizhao Iron and Steel Group Co, Ltd. Due to the generosity of Rizhao Iron and Steel Group, the children have an exciting schedule of activities.  For example, In July, the children in the program will participate in a summer camp with the theme of "Love is growing up".  After the summer camp, the children will start their new lives in the new An Kang Home and primary and secondary schools
