The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) has distributed the first round of financial aid worth 80,000 yuan to 20 children injured in the 7.0-magnitude earthquake which hit Lushan in southwest China' Sichuan Province on April 20, 2013.
CCTF raised the funds through its online donation platform, 'Urgent Aid for Children in Quake-hit Lushan in Sichuan Province', which was launched on the day the earthquake happened.
As of May 14, 2013, the foundation has raised donations worth 28,488,394.09 yuan (US$ 4.64 million), including 97,671.48 yuan (US$ 15,907) donated through Alipay, Tenpay, bank remittance and post offices.
Based on donors' wishes, CCTF is currently making a financial aid plan and distributing the donations accordingly. It will release information on beneficiaries as the money is distributed.
