In conjunction with the upcoming International Children's Day, the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) and China.org.cn launched a month-long activity to collect online messages from children describing their hopes and dreams.
The foundation has received more than 100 messages from children from 18 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Hebei, Sichuan and Anhui.
Some of the messages include:
"I hope natural disasters stay far away from us," wrote Gao Tangchao from southwest China's Sichuan Province.
"I dream that the air and rivers will become cleaner," wrote Wang Ziyi from east China's Zhejiang Province.
"I want to become a teacher and teach children in rural areas," wrote Yin Ruofei from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
"I dream of owning an electronic dictionary, a pair of dancing shoes, and a basketball," wrote a student from southwest China's Sichuan Province.
CCTF sent the first batch of wish-fulfilling gifts to the children on May 20, 2013.
"We felt so happy seeing the children's happy smiles. We will do everything we can to help them," said a representative.
