Shanghai Glasses Company to Help Children Gain Better Vision

A Shanghai optical glasses company has donated 400,000 yuan (US$65,259) to help correct the vision impairment of 80 children with amblyopia.

The Shanghai Mingyue Optical Glasses Co., Ltd. made the donation via the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) at a ceremony held in Qilihe Primary School in Lanzhou, capital city of northwest China's Gansu Province, on June 6, 2013. The children will undergo treatment in Beijing.

Vice President of Gansu Women's Federation Kang Yahong acknowledged the contribution and President of Shanghai Mingyue Optical Glasses Co., Ltd Xie Gongwan said that the company will continue making great efforts to support vision impaired children.

At the ceremony, experts taught the children about eye care knowledge and handed out informational leaflets to teachers, students and parents.

Since 2011, the Shanghai Mingyue Optical Glasses Co., Ltd has donated a total of 1.2 million yuan (US$0.196 million) to CCTF.
