CCTF Raises US$ 2.4 Mln to Aid Quake-hit Areas

The China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) donations campaign to help children in the quake-hit LushanCountyin southwestChina's Sichuan Province, is receiving an enthusiastic response. The Foundation has collected money and goods totaling 22.416 million yuan (US$ 3.65 million), with financial donations accounting for 14.767 million yuan (US$ 2.4 million). The donations will be used to improve children's post quake study and life environments.

Lushan was hit by a magnitude-7 earthquake on April 20, 2013.

Quake relief a week after the quakestood at500,000 yuan (US$ 81,422.6) and relief materials worth 300,000 yuan (US$ 48853.6) were raised and sent to quake-hit area on the day the donations campaign opened

HeinzChinadonated and shipped baby food worth1million yuan (US$ 162,601) on April 22,

The Guangzhou P&G Co. Ltd. donated relief materials valued at more than 500,000 yuan (US$ 81,300)Nutritional packages for children were donated by Ferguson(Wuhan) Biotechnologies andtransported toLushan, in southwestChina's SichuanProvince, on April 25, 2013.

Hainan Honz Pharmaceutical donated medicine and food worth 10.21 million yuan (US$ 1.663 million). Hanmi Pharm, a Beijing-based pharmaceuticals manufacturer donated children's medicine worth 1 million yuan (US$162,601). Guangzhou Weimeizi Personal Care Co. Ltd. donated toothpaste worth 500,000 yuan (US$ 81,422.6). The Beijing Dadao Agriculture Company Ltd., a foodstuffs company inBeijing, donated rice and corn grits valued at 130,000 yuan (US$ 21,112).

Elevator manufacturer Otis and its parent company, United Technologies, donated 3 million yuan (US$ 487,012) on April 23. The AIA, a life insurance giant, donated 1 million yuan (US$ 162,601). Mary Kay (China) Cosmetics Co. donated 2 million yuan (US$ 325,000).

Tahiti's Noni International(TNI)donated juiceworth1.02 million yuan (US$166,200) and 100,000 yuan (US$ 16,284.5).

The public has donated 249,000 yuan (US$ 40,550). The donations will be used to improve the students' lives and study in quake-hit area and the construction of schools and facilities.
