CCTF to Donate 50 Mil to Children's Charities

The China Children and Teenagers' Foundation recently announced that it would launch a public welfare program to evaluate 30 programs with the intention of donating money and goods worth 50 million yuan (US$ 8.15 million) to help underprivileged children.  

Secretary General of CCTF Chen Xiaoxia made the announcement on June 21, 2013, in conjunction with China Children Charitable Activities Day. CCTF will invite leaders, media representatives and celebrities to launch the program in ten provinces in north, central, southwest and northwestChina. Chen added that the program would give donors and beneficiaries the opportunity to communicate face-to-face and encourage more people to take part in charity efforts for children. 

At the ceremony, Vice President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) andCCTFVice PresidentZhaoDonghua awarded the title of Love Ambassador to Jin Bo, a famous young singer from the art troupe of the political department of the Second Artillery Force of theChinese People's Liberation Army. "Charitable acts for children not only consist of donating money and goods but also doing simple things every day to contribute to children's beautiful future,"Jin said. Jin also performed a song at the event. 

Thirty units and individuals made donations at the launch ceremony. Also present was CCTF Member Zhao Beichen. 

The China Children CharitableActivities Day was launched by CCTF in 2002 and is celebrated every year on June 22. It is a public welfare activity to push the implementation of children's charity projects.
