The Dangshan Primary School in east China's Anhui Province saw its first batch of newly lit classrooms on June 28, 2013.
The classrooms were part of a welfare activity launched by Opple Lighting Co., Ltd., the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) and the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) to light up 100 classrooms with high-quality and cost-saving LED products. It aims to create a healthy studying environment for rural students and to help the schools cut down on electricity costs.
Other rural primary schools in the Shaanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Yunnan provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will also benefit from the project.
