A children's public welfare project, aimed at providing moral education and arts training to migrant children, was launched at the Beijing Jindi Laboratory School in Chaoyang District, Beijing, on September 29, 2013.
The event launch drew the attendance of 60 people, including teachers, volunteers, student representatives and journalists.
"This three-year project is divided into three parts: launching folk music, arts and calligraphy and other traditional culture training for 500 pupils, providing public arts education training for 100 needy and disabled children, and teaching thousands of pupils moral lessons by giving performances in primary schools in Chaoyang District," said Secretary General of China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF)Chen Xiaoxia at the event.
Vice President of the Henderson Land Group Li Jiacheng, who funded the project, made a speech in which he said that he hoped the project would help the children gain a more well-rounded education and be promoted to other areas to benefit more migrant children.
Vice Chairperson of CCTF Zhao Donghua received the donation and presented an acknowledgement certificate to Li.
Vice President of Beijing Women's Federation and Vice Chairperson of Beijing Women and Children's Development Foundation Wang Shucun presided over the ceremony. Secretary General of Beijing Women and Children's Development Foundation Zhu Longxing awarded contracts to employed teachers, instructors and volunteers.
