The China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF) held a meeting on February 10, 2014 to summarize the year-long 'mass line' campaign at its headquarters based in Beijing.
The 'mass line' campaign was launched by Communist Party of China's (CPC) General Secretary Xi Jinping on June 18, 2013. Xi said that the "mass line" campaign is the lifeline of the Party, and the campaign will act as a "thorough cleanup" of harmful and undesirable work styles such as formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance and will urge all CPC members to strengthen ties with the people they serve and fight corruption.
Chen Xiaoxia, on behalf of the CCTF Secretariat, summarized the practices, major achievements and experiences of the campaign conducted by the organization in response to the CPC year-long "mass line" education campaign, launched in the latter half of last year, in a bid to strengthen Party-people relations.
"We will further study the guidelines set by Xi in a series of speeches, solidify and make use of the results of 'mass line' education to guarantee the greater effectiveness of children charity work," said Chen.
CCTF Vice President Zhao Donghua praised the Secretariat for the achievements of the campaign and approved its next move.
"The leaders of the organization have attached great importance to the campaign. They viewed others and themselves with an honest attitude," said Zhao.
"During the campaign, study and education have been emphasized to equip all Party members with one mind and increase accountability. CCTF invited related units to give it suggestions and advice, and all were encouraged to point out problems during work honestly," Zhao continued.
"While conducting the campaign, CCTF has made great achievements in its charity work and won a number of state-level awards. CCTF should be motivated to push forward its work in all aspects."
Zhao made several requirements for CCTF's future work to solidify the campaign results.
"By continuing studying and implementing the guidelines of the CPC Central Committee, we will determine our belief and change our work style," she said. "We shall be more accountable when serving women and children and have a clearer understanding of the direction and goals of work relating to women and children."
"To solidify the campaign's results, we need to make specific plans and set an agenda for improvement, and explore long-term mechanisms to make better use of the experiences and practices," she concluded.
Also in attendance were representatives from the All-China Women's Federation.
