Song Xiuyan, newly-elected President of the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF), visited staff of CCTF Secretariat in Beijing on March 20.
Song, who is also Vice President and First Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), affirmed the achievements of the 15th Session of the Leadership of the CCTF over the last seven years, and acknowledged an expression of gratitude towards staff of the CCTF Secretariat for their hard work.
Song summed up the core work of the CCTF as raising funds to aid people. She proposed four suggestions for the future. First, charity programs should meet the needs of children in terms of their education, development, safety and health. Besides continuing with existing projects, new ones should also be developed. Good social connections can help to absorb a greater amount of support, so that more children will benefit. Second, board leaders are expected to build a WeChat group (China's popular online mobile messaging service), exchange information on CCTF projects, collect donations, and form a working plan with board members who can unite more charitable people. Third, besides raising funds from long-term donating units, new media, such as Tencent netizens Love Fund, should be considered as an additional channel. Fourth, innovation mechanisms should be built to encourage the enthusiasm of staff for initiative and creativity. Song hopes that each suggestion can make rapid strides over the following five years.
Also in attendance were ACWF Vice President and CCTF Vice President Zhao Donghua and CCTF Vice President, President and Member of the Secretariat of the ACWF Chen Xiurong, both of whom proposed their comments and demands for CCTF's work and development.
