The Happy City Group donated two million yuan (U.S. $320,200) to the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) to build 20 children's activity playgrounds for 'left-behind' children in Fuyang, central China's Anhui Province, on May 11.

According to the All-China Women's Federation, China has about 70 million "left-behind" children, whose parents have left them in their rural hometowns to work in the cities, accounting for one quarter of the total number of Chinese children.

The children's activity playgrounds are designed to help the healthy growth of these children in Fuyang.

CCTF General Secretary Chen Xiaoxia expressed gratitude to the Happy City Group for its charitable contribution and promised that CCTF would pass on the love to children and their families, along with Anhui Women's Federation and Fuyang Women's Federation.

Jiao Liangcun, president of the Happy City Group, said his company will commit itself to charity and focus proactively on its social responsibilities.

A total of 4,000 representatives from the local government, industry association and press attended the donating ceremony.
