China Children and Teenagers' Fundation (CCTF) and local women's federations jointly held a ceremony for a donation to the Amblyopic Children Special Fund (ACSF). The "Endowing Children with Bright Eyes"charity event took place in Zhengzhou, capital city of central China's Henan province on June 6, to mark the 20th National Eye-Care Day.
Chen Xiaoxia, secretary-general of the CCTF; Fan Ping, vice-president of Henan Women's Federation; Xie Gongwan, chairperson of Shanghai Bright Moon Light Eye-wear Company; and other related organizers attended the event.
During the ceremony, the Bright Moon Light Eye-Wear Company donated 480,000 yuan (U.S.$ 77,000) to the fund to further provide free treatment for children suffering from the condition commonly known as "lazy eye", in Henan, as well as giving them each 1,000 yuan (U.S.$ 160) for their families to use as living allowance. Since 2010, the company has donated around 2 million yuan (U.S.$ 322,000) to the special fund of CCTF, benefiting around 400 children with amblyopia.
