The opening ceremony of a campaign to get budding designers to submit proposals for a range of new public service posters was held in Beijing in June 16.
The "2015 2nd National Print Public Service Ad Campaign" is known as the "National Public Service Ads Campaign for College Students". Topics for the posters include the "Chinese Dream", "Socialist Core Values", ecological civilization, teenage education, traditional virtues and national brands. Each subject was specially chosen as it has a great impact on society in terms of building a correct world view and values for the public, especially youngsters, say organizers.
Zhao Donghua, the vice-president and member of the Secretariat of All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), vice-president of China Children and Teenagers' Fund (CCTF), and Zhang Jianxing, the vice-president of People's Daily attended the event and delivered speeches respectively.
Zhao said that public service ads played an irreplaceable and unique role in revealing the time and culture of a society, demonstrating the level of development and promoting its progress. As one of the organizers, the kid's fund also promoted the event "Charity Day for Chinese Children" on the theme of "More Kindness for Each Family" on July 28.
Celebrities and specialists from related organizations attended the celebration. Those in attendance also included Ju Ping, a famous TV host, and actor Wu Jing, who were both invited to work as image ambassadors for the campaign. At the event, Ju announced the details of the proposal.
The creative campaign is open to adults and students, who will both be judged in separate categories. In total there are 17 themes on which the posters should be designed. Those who wish to apply can take part as teams and organizations or as individuals.
