To bring peace to those that made the ultimate sacrifice and strength to those who survived in the deadly blasts in China's port city of Tianjin which happened at midnight on August 12, China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) has offered to assist the family members of firefighters and those injured, providing pension and living allowances.
According to China's state news agency Xinhua reports, to date, the blasts have left 160 people dead, including 96 firefighters and 11 policemen. Eight firefighters and five civilians are still missing.
While civilians escaped danger, firefighters headed straight towards it in the honorable quest of saving lives.
Founded on July 28, 1981, CCTF is the first such public initiative in China. Under the guidance of China All Women's Federation and the council, CCTF has established child charity brands like the Spring Buds and Well-being programs, Eliminate Infant Anemia Action, Children's Happy Home, and Happy Families-1,000 Days Health Action, etc. Twelve million impoverished children have benefited from these programs, with CCTF named a 5A fund by the Ministry of Civil Affairs.
