CCTF, Saky Baby Launch Campus Tour for Baby Oral Health

2015/10/14

The China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) and Saky Baby held a campus tour called "Baby Teeth Care" at an experimental primary school in Wenzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province on September 23.

Saky Baby donated oral care products for children and hosted the Saky Baby Oral Lecture, which covered good oral healthcare. Doctors also examined students for free, giving each a brochure on oral hygiene.

From this week, the campus tour will hit Hangzhou, the provincial capital city, and Wenzhou in succession.

With the rapid growth of living standards, oral problems have become a core problem, especially among children in China. According to China Oral Health Report (2012), the deciduous teeth rate among Chinese children aged 5 is 66% whilethe permanent tooth rate of thoseaged 12 is 28.9%. However, the dental erosion rate of children aged 3 to 5 is between 4.5% to 12.4% and 22.1% to 61.8% for teenagers aged 12 to 13. These astonishing numbers make the issue of dental health a vital topic for many parents as well as society as a whole. Many children still do not use either a professional toothbrush or toothpaste.

Saky Baby has devoted itself to improving the present situation of oral health via research and development of professional products as well as the education of children. In  future, Saky Baby and the CCTF will work together on promoting the "Baby Teeth Care" initiative, which will be carried out in more cities.

In 2012, Guangzhou Weimeizi Industrial Company and CCTF created "Saky Children Oral Health Fund" and launched the "Baby Teeth Care" public activity across China. Up to now, "Baby Teeth Care" has been carried out in nine provinces and 55 cities, including Beijing, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang, Nanning, Jinan, Changchun, Chengdu, Wuhan and Guangzhou, etc., benefitting more than 136,000 children.
