China's Ministry of Civil Affairs named China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) as a National Advanced Social Organization, in Beijing on December 22.
The announcement, made on the China Social Organization website, listed the fund among a total of 298 other social organizations, non-governmental non-enterprise entities and foundations to be awarded.
Officials said that the central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has paid high attention to the work of such social organizations, and since the 18th CPC National Congress was held in 2012, the committee has made a series of major decisions and arrangements which have greatly promoted their steady development.
Many influential social organizations have sprung up, and have become essential forces in developing Chinese modern socialist construction, said officials. These groups have exerted positive effects on stimulating economic development, prospering social undertakings, innovating social governance, expanding external exchange as well as consolidating governing foundations.
Organizers said the main goal for the scheme was to stimulate the vitality of social organizations and lead them to develop in a healthy and ordered way.
Those recognized were judged on the basis of being model law-abiding organizations, well governed, have standardized operations procedures, high Party influence, strong social responsibilities, great public trust and a good social image.
