Banner Dairy Co., Ltd. made a donation of 7,700 cans of infant milk powder, whose value was about two million RMB (U.S.$308,200), via the China Children and Teenagers' Foundation (CCTF) to infants from poverty-stricken families across northwest China's Gansu Province at a ceremony held in Huan County of Qingyang City on December 26.
This latest donation of baby formula aims to provide local infants with healthy milk powder and help them to enjoy sound growth in childhood.
It is also part of concrete actions undertaken by Banner Dairy, located in Zhangjiakou City in north China's Hebei Province, to implement its social responsibilities and contribute its efforts to poverty alleviation in Gansu.
The donated infant formula will be distributed amongst target babies across the whole province with the support of Gansu Women's Federation and 16 municipal-level women's federations in upcoming weeks.
Those present at the donation ceremony included Vice-President of Gansu Women's Federation Zhang Xinlan, General Manager of Banner Dairy's northwestern branch Shen Bo, officials from the CCTF and representatives of beneficiary families.
