Affection and care of the children

 

September in Yunnan Lijiang was a bit chilly. On September 19, Mme Song Liying, Secretary General of China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, visited pupils of Yunnan Lijiang Nationality Orphanage. Pupil, Yang Minghang was wearing a woolen sweater with a heart-shape flower at the left chest. He said that this woolen sweater was as soft comfortable as that my mother made for me.

Yang Minghang was an orphan from Wenchuan Earthquake Disaster Area. His mother was killed in the earthquake. In later May, assisted by China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, together with 40 pupils of the disaster area, he came to Yunnan Lijiang Nationality Orphanage to start a new life.

On the same day, 2008 Permanent Love Action was launched in Yunnan Lijiang. China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, Hengyuanxiang Group and 22 leaders of Provincial and Municipal Women Federations gave out the first batch of loving-heart woolen sweaters to Yunnan Lijiang Nationality Orphanage. “Permanent Love Action” planned to give out 200,000 woolen sweaters to the orphaned and disabled children all over China before December, to ensure that these children will have a warm winter.

Wenchuan Earthquake made thousands of children losing their parents. Deputy General Director of Hengyuanxiang Group Chen Zhongwei said that this year’s “Permanent Love Action” would give special attention to Wenchuan Earthquake orphans in the launching ceremony.

Mme Song Liying, Secretary General of China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, made an introduction of “Permanent Love Action”. She said that “Permanent Love Action” was first launched in 2005. In close cooperation with China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, Hengyuanxiang Group has generously given out 400,000 woolen sweaters to orphaned and disabled children. The purpose of “Permanent Love Action” was to give each of 573,000 orphaned and disabled children a woolen sweater.

With the successful Conclusion of Paralympic Games, the whole society was deeply touched by the relentless spirit of the athletes and showed greater care to the disabled people. “Permanent Love Action” would further promote “Surmounting, Merging and Sharing” of the disabled children.
