In order to improve the safety awareness of left-behind children in China's western region, increase their ability to protect themselves, and to help them grow in a safe and healthy way, the China Children and Teenagers’ Foundation, in support of the central government financial capital and donation from the society, will carry out the Left-Behind Children’s Safety Education Demonstration Project.
The project will help build children’s safety education experience classrooms at the primary schools where left-behind children account for over 50 percent of the total number of students.
These classrooms will be equipped with safety education device. Students will be taught with a situational and experience teaching model and they can get escape, self-help, mutual aid and practical emergency skills training through exercises, games, and contests. The classes will help students establish the safety awareness and reduce injuries. School teachers will also be trained with emergency management knowledge.
The Left-Behind Children’s Safety Education Demonstration Project is now open for bidding.
