Jackie Chan Sharing the Love in his Heart with Weak-Sighted Children

Apart from film-making, Jackie Chan, the international star, has dedicated himself to public charity.
Upon getting information that there are more than 12 million weak-sighted children in China, Jackie Chan sang public charity songs with the children and donated two million yuan to the Weak-Sighted Children Special Fund at the donation ceremony of the Third China Children Charity Activity Day to assist more than 400 weak-sighted children in the poverty-stricken areas. When he heard that, during the initial period of her illness, a 10 years -old girl kept her illness from her mother, who suffered from heart disease and her peasant father, delaying the treatment of her illness, he was very sad at the story and couldn’t help shedding tears. On the spot, he decided to donate rare stamps to be sold. The income from the sale was used for the children's charity cause. With his assistance, the girl's weak-sightedness was treated. Now she can live an ordinary life.

In 2005, Jackie Chan took part in the gala charity evening of China Children Charity Day. More than 30 well-known Chinese stars also took part in the gala evening with him. At the same time, he also made charitable commercials free of charge for China Children and Teenagers’ Fund.

Jackie Chan brought to the weak-sighted children brightness and hope. He set a fine example for the artistic circle and brought a large group of the artists to the charitable activities.
