China Children Charity Day Campaign

On June 22, 2002, CCTF successfully held the first “China Children Charity Day” event at the Badaling Great Wall, and built the “China Children Charity Monument” to commend the people and enterprises who have contributed to the children charity cause.

Thousands of privileged guests joined the recognition ceremony in the Great Hall of the People. Vice-Premier Wuyi attended and presented the award to donors.

In 2003, CCTF held the second annual “China Children Charity Day,” putting forward the “Safe & Healthy Distance Learning Classroom” and the “Safe & Healthy Home” public welfare items, enabling the Safe & Healthy Growth Project to go deeper into schools and communities, opening new areas for the safe and healthy growth of China’s children and teenagers, and for the expansion of China’s children’s development cause.

In 2004, the third annual “China Children Charity Day” was held to unite caring hearts at home and abroad. On June 22, a charity award evening gala was broadcast by CCTV. “China Children Charity Day” has developed into a socially interactive platform for all people to show their support to the children’s charity cause. June 22 has been called the "second festival of the children in China" by the mass media.

In 2005, the fourth annual “China Children Charity Day” centered around the themes of giving children a caring society, making use of the mass media to promote children’s welfare all over the world, and calling on the whole society to care for children, a special vulnerable group. The day called for kindhearted people at home and abroad to show their enthusiasm and to support the children. One of the themed activities was hosted by China Children and Teenagers’ Fund, and supported by CCTV, China People’s Broadcast Station, People’s Daily, and the China International Broadcast Station. This event, “Call and Give Care to Kids,” was a large scale gala. The charity evening gala was held June 22, in the Capital Gymnasium in Beijing.

Internationally famous film star Jackie Chan attended the evening gala, which was directed by Mr. Tang Jili, an internationally well-known director. Many other famous film stars, music stars, sports stars, cultural ambassadors, and public figures at home and abroad put on first class performances. The event was broadcast live to the world by CCTV, Hong Kong Phoenix TV, Hong Kong Wireless TV, Macao TV, and stations of many southeast Asian countries.

The fifth annual “China Children Charity Day” was held in Shanghai in 2006.

We are looking forward to your attention and support for the next “China Children Charity Day” event. We sincerely hope that your name and caring acts for the children will be engraved on the Merits and Virtues Monument of the Badaling Great Wall.

The China Children and Teenagers’ Fund formally invites you to attend this event to show your support for the children and teenagers’ public welfare cause! On behalf of the kids, please accept our sincere gratitude!
